This project is a part of ArcelorMittal’s global strategy to decarbonize steel production and reduce its environmental footprint across its value chain.
The green power generated will primarily supply AM/NS India’s integrated steel facility at Hazira in Gujarat, one of the country’s largest flat steel production plants. By transitioning to renewable energy for a significant portion of its operations, AM/NS India is expected to cut down its carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.5 million tonnes annually, thereby contributing meaningfully India’s climate goals.
