Infrastructure refers to the set of basic facilities and systems that enable families and businesses to function in the long run. Serving a country, city, or other area, including the services and facilities required to run its economy. Roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, water supply, sewage, electrical grids, and telephones are examples of public and private infrastructure (including Internet connectivity and broadband access).
Infrastructure is described as “the physical components of interconnected systems that provide commodities and services required to enable, sustain, or improve social living conditions” and to maintain the environment in general.
