The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed a concession project agreement with G.R. Infraprojects Ltd. for the development of the 88 km-long, six-lane access-controlled Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Expressway (NH-719D). The highway would be built at a total capital cost of ₹4,613 crore, including land acquisition.

Project Overview

The Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Expressway is envisioned as a new 87-kilometer long access-controlled expressway, designed to link Agra in Uttar Pradesh with Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. The project will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), a public-private partnership model where the government bears project cost.

This greenfield route, part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, is expected to bypass congested urban routes and offer a fast, seamless corridor for passenger and freight traffic.
