Prime Minister Narendra Nodi (Narendra Nodi) laid the cornerstone for 11 infrastructure projects with an investment of 13,600 crore. He initiated the construction of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor (from the eastern peripheral expressway hub to Dehradun) with an investment of 830 billion rupees. The corridor will reduce the travel time from Delhi to Dehradun from 6 hours to 2.5 hours and will have seven main interchanges connecting Haridwar, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, and Yamunagar , Bagpat, Meerut and Ballaut. It will also have Asia’s largest wildlife elevated corridor (12 kilometers), and a 340-meter-long tunnel near the Dat Kaali Temple in Dehradun will reduce the impact on wildlife. The green space alignment project of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor will connect Hargoa in Sahara and Badrabad in Haridwar, and its construction cost will exceed Rs 20 crore. It will provide seamless connectivity and reduce travel time between Delhi and Haridwar.
In addition, the Haridwar Ring Road project from Manoharpur to Kangri was launched, costing more than Rs 1,600 crore. The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Haridwar and will also improve connectivity with the Kuman region.
PM started work on the Dehradun-Paonta Sahib highway project in Himachal Pradesh at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore, which will reduce travel time and provide a seamless connection between the two countries.
The Nazmabad-Kodwa road widening project also laid the cornerstone, which aims to reduce travel time and improve connectivity to Lansdowne.
