The National Highway Administration of India has started the construction of the Gurgaon-Rewari highway in the NCR area with an investment of Rs 1,524 crore. About a year ago, the Joint Minister of Road Transport and Highways laid the cornerstone for the project, which was delayed due to land acquisition disputes, but it will now be put into use 24 months later. The new road will cut the travel time between the two districts by nearly half.

This highway will become part of NH-352 and will be included in a 132-kilometer section costing Rs 4,500 crore, which will connect Gurgaon to the Rajasthan border via Pataudi, Rewari and Narnaul. The Gurgaon-Rewari highway is expected to simplify travel between Gurgaon and Rewari, shortening their travel time from one and a half hours to about 45 minutes. It is also expected to reduce the vehicle load of NH-8, which is currently the main route used by commuters between the two cities. It is also expected to provide relief to people traveling between the National Capital Region and Rajasthan, and provide them with another travel route.
