The central government has approved 390 billion rupees for the construction of railways, roads and related infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Ministry of Transport has approved the widening and strengthening of NH-334A (Purkaji-Laksar-Haridwar section) into a two-lane road with shoulders under the EPC mode of UP at a price of Rs 227.06 crore. The Ministry also approved the expansion and enhancement of the NH-330D (from Sitapur to Kurain) to the two-lane project for paving the shoulders under the EPC mode, with an investment of Rs 5050 crore.
The project also includes the development of a six-lane corridor controlled Spur Economic Corridor from Delhi-Saharapur-Dehradun to Haridwar based on Bharatmala Pariyojana’s mixed annuity model. The Ministry of Railways also approved Rs 2,095.21 crore for the construction of railway lines in these two states. In addition, NH-227A (near Sikriiganj to Barhaiganj) to the improvement and upgrade of the two lanes on the shoulders of the EPC mode has also been approved, with an investment of 403.36 crore.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport also approved the widening and improvement of the four-lane road shoulder from Dillai to Lahorijan of Daboka – Manja Package 7 of NH-29 at a cost of 204.10 crore. In addition, the three re-adjusted construction works of Drass, Kharboo and Kargil between Pandrass – Pashkyum on Road Zozila – Kargil – Leh (NH-1), and the dual-lane under the Vijayak project (BRO) have also been approved under the EPC model , Involving an investment of 42.614 billion rupees in Ladakh.
