ADB to fund ₹13,365cr in Patna metro project

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to fund the Patna Metro project with an investment of Rs 13,365.77 crore. The bank will also help expand subway corridors and routes in the future. The state government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japan International Cooperation Agency and is expected to start receiving funding soon. Now, ADB is also preparing to provide support for the further expansion of subway lines, stations and routes, and related projects.

According to a source from the Department of Urban Development and Housing (UDHD), ADB has already cooperated with the state government on different urban development projects, because about 80% of the land required for the project has been obtained because most of the land belongs to the state government. A large piece of land for the construction of ISBT Patna Metro Rail Depot will soon be obtained.

The state government has approved the land acquisition of 1,000 rupees, and the Patna Municipal Corporation has also transferred the land in Mithapur, near Sachivalaya and Akashvani, at the intersection of Fraser Road and Patna.
