Ministry Approves 50 National Highway Projects in Manipur
Eight projects totaling 125 kilometers in the hills have been finished thus far.

In Manipur, 50 National Highway projects totaling 1,026 km have been sanctioned by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. 44 of these projects, totaling 902 km, are located in the hilly areas of the state. Eight projects totaling 125 kilometers in the hills have been finished thus far. The remaining 36 projects are presently underway and have a total investment of ₹12,000 crore for 777 km.

The Ministry has added two more National Highway projects, totaling ₹1,350 crore and spanning 90 km in hilly regions, to the Annual Plan for 2024–2025.

The Ministry has authorized a list of road projects that the Manipur State Government has prioritized under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). Based on the Balance of State (BoS) ratio, 57 of the 111 planned works have been approved. The BoS ratio is currently 9.81, which is far higher than the acceptable threshold of 4 for a hilly state.
