Foundation Stone Laid for Karo and Konar Coal Handling Plants

Union Minister Shri Satish Chandra Dubey inaugurated the Karo and Konar Coal Handling Plants in Bokaro and Kargali, aiming to boost coal handling and processing in the region. Karo and Konar coal handling plants will facilitate First Mile Rail Connectivity, transporting coal from mines to railway circuits for thermal power plants and other consumers, replacing road transport.

The Konar Coal Handling Plant, costing ₹322 crore, includes a hopper, crusher, 10000 tonne coal storage bunker, and 1.6 km conveyor belt. It transfers coal to railway wagons via a 1000 tonne Silo bunker, accelerating dispatch.
