The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the expansion of the Aurangabad-Paithan National Road by 5 meters to lay the main pipelines of the city’s new water supply plan, with an investment of ₹1680 crore. The project must be completed on a fast track basis.

The pipeline of the new water supply plan will be laid near the road, so an additional 5 meters of space will be required. The National Highway Administration of India should immediately approve ₹5,500 crore for the construction of a 7-kilometer tunnel at Autram Ghat (Karnad). The tunnel was constructed to avoid traffic congestion on the Dhule-Solapur National Highway. In addition, NHAI has undertaken the construction of the Shirdi-Aurangabad National Road and will immediately appoint an agency to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) of the road.
