The Punjab government, under Minister of New and Renewable Energy Sources Aman Arora, is contemplating the construction of sixty-six four-megawatt solar power facilities.
The renewable energy project’s plans were addressed in a recent meeting with senior officials from many departments and Power Minister Harbhajan Singh. After the plants are finished, 390 million units (MU) of electricity should be produced yearly.
Through feeder-level solarization, the plan is expected to save about Rs 136 crore annually and draw in Rs 1,056 crore in investment. Jobs for semi-skilled and skilled laborers will also be generated by this initiative.
