India to have world’s second-largest urban metro system over next 2 years: Hardeep puri

In a conversation with former judges, military veterans, and intellectuals, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the advancements made in urban metro transportation over the last ten years and predicted that, within the next 25 years, India will have the second-largest urban metro system in the world.

NEW DELHI: In an interview with former judges, armed forces veterans, and intellectuals, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the advancements made in urban metro transport over the last ten years and predicted that the nation will have the second-largest urban metro system in the world in the next 25 years.

“In today’s day and age, it is important to emphasise that one crore people ride the metro every day, with 73 lakh of those ridership coming from the capital region of Delhi,” Hardeep Puri remarked, addressing the crowd in this location.

“Even if the city’s population is growing significantly, it is still simple to go around the city in a fair amount of time nowadays. “More individuals are using urban transport,” he stated.

There are already 945 km of operational metro infrastructure in the nation, and another 1,000 are being built. We will have the second-largest urban transport metro in the world after this is completed in the next 2.5 years, according to Puri.

“Who would have thought of it when Vajpayee ji started this metro system back in 2002?” he said.

The Union Minister also discussed the modernization of the police force and the criminal justice system, emphasising the advancements made during the previous ten years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction.

“The manifesto reads about modernising police forces and will assist states in transforming the police into a tech-savvy, tech-trained, and tech-equipped force through the police modernization scheme,” Hardeep Singh Puri said, reading from page 55 of the BJP manifesto.

“This is just one thought, but behind that is an entire ecosystem of reform that is already underway and will be accelerated in the next five years,” he stated.

Speaking on the occasion, former commissioner of police in Delhi, BS Bassi, commended the administration of Prime Minister Modi for promoting “out of the box thinking.”

“The government of Prime Minister Modi is full of creative ideas. The Modi government is skilled at fostering unconventional thought,” he stated.

“I have experience working for previous union administrations as the Delhi Police Commissioner, the DG of Goa, and the IG of Chandigarh. The Modi administration promotes innovative problem-solving and critical thinking within the security system.

He went on to say, “Intelligence gathering used to happen earlier also but it is the Modi government which has ensured that agencies work overtime to ensure no bomb attacks can take place.”

I just talked to several impoverished individuals from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. “They stated they want Modi to take over in the centre because only he can develop Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, and then they can return to their hometowns because there will be jobs there, even though they receive free power and freebies in Delhi,” Bassi continued.

In addition, the former Police Commissioner stated that the Modi administration has started a new chapter because there haven’t been any bomb attacks in Delhi for the last ten years.

In his remarks on the Delhi Metro’s growth, he also mentioned how there had been a lot of traffic chaos and infractions in the 1970s. It is admirable how the national government has expanded the Delhi metro.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri went on to say that the conversation covered more ground than only the country’s metro system growth and the advancements over the previous ten years.

He claimed that the conversation produced insightful recommendations from the esteemed visitors on new projects that PM Narendra Modi should launch during his third term.

“Many believed that the Pakistan factor had almost completely disappeared when Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office. There’s a lot going on in the PoK, but only time will tell what will materialise and how.
