1,345-cr Jammu-Akhnoor NH project is expedited by NHIDCL

The development of the 1,345 crore Jammu-Akhnoor NH project has been expedited by the National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL). The longest flyover in J&K, from Canal Head to Ganesh Vihar Muthi next to the Directorate of School Education Jammu, which is being carried out as part of Package- II, has been totally finished, and the entire project is anticipated to be finished by March 2023.

Despite being done in the middle of traffic, the work on J&K’s longest flyover, which runs from Canal Head to Ganesh Vihar Muthi, was finished quickly and without any accidents. Beginning in November 2018, the building work was halted for two years as certain Paloura locals sought legal action. After around two and a half years, the final judgement was made. Construction on the 0.8 km long Phase I stretch from Bhagwati Nagar Chowk (4th Tawi Bridge) to Canal Head is about to begin, and work on the 4 km long Phase IV stretch from Hanuman Chowk to Army Area is also anticipated to begin soon as bids have already been issued.
