The districts of Gurugram and Faridabad will have their electricity distribution infrastructure modernized and upgraded through projects authorized by the Ministry of electricity, valued at ₹3,600 crore. These programmes are part of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme of the Indian government, which aims to fulfill the country’s rising power demand and provide a steady supply of energy. Three thousand five hundred kilometers of subterranean cabling, twenty new Gas Insulated Substations, and five thousand new distribution transformers will all be put into service as part of these projects. Major beneficiaries of this improvement are Greater Faridabad, NIT, Old Faridabad, Manesar, Badshahpur, and Ballabhgarh.
