The Central government has approved two highway projects worth ₹1,012 crore in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. In Madhya Pradesh, ₹531.84 crore has been sanctioned to upgrade a 63.5-km stretch of National Highway-34, widening the road to two lanes with paved shoulders, constructing five major bridges, and developing four bypasses.
In Haryana, ₹480.44 crore has been allocated for a 49.02-km four-lane section of National Highway-248A, connecting Nuh to the Rajasthan border via Ferozepur Jhirka. The project also includes strengthening existing roads in Malab and Bhadas villages in Nuh district. India’s renewable energy capacity achieved historic growth in FY 2024-25, with a record annual capacity addition of 29.52 GW.

These approvals are part of a larger infrastructure push in Madhya Pradesh, where Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced projects worth ₹3 lakh crore to be completed within a year. The minister expressed confidence that the state’s highway network would surpass that of the United States in the next two years.
The comprehensive development plan includes six new National Highway projects under the Central Road Fund, spanning 400 kilometers and valued at ₹12,000 crore. Additionally, five new greenfield economic corridors, ring roads, elevated corridors, and bridges are planned at a cost of ₹33,000 crore.
