During the first quarter of FY 2024–2025, the Indian government operationalised four significant projects in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh as part of the Namami Gange Mission 2.0. These projects add 145 MLD of sewage treatment capacity at a total cost of ₹920 crores. A ₹366 crore project in Munger, Bihar, comprises a 30 MLD STP and a 175 km sewerage network. A ₹129 crore project in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, adds two additional STPs and intercepts nine drains to increase treatment capacity to 31 MLD. A ₹153 crore project featuring a 1.3 km I&D network and a 21 MLD STP was undertaken in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh.
